English Enrichment
Lorna Whiston Schools- Online English Enrichment classes are tailored for students aged 5 -16 years. These are group classes that aim to build a strong academic foundation by providing students with strategies for achieving success while empowering them with essential soft skills. Our lessons cover essential academic skills like composition writing, grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening and speaking. These are layered with developing soft skills such as listening and speaking properly, and peer-to-peer interaction.
Objective: To build a strong academic foundation that equips students with strategies to achieve success whilst empowering them with essential soft skills and values.
Focus: The class focuses on the 5 C’s that are essential for success and are based on stimulating themes. Essential skills such as composition writing, comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening and speaking are covered in our lessons.
Speech and Drama
Lorna Whiston Schools-Online Speech and Drama classes use drama as a learning tool to help students between 5 and 16 years build essential soft skills, further developing the emotional intelligence innate in all children and young adults. We also aim to develop a range of transferable communication skills that include problem-solving, creativity, teamwork and organisational skills that will have a positive impact in both our students’ education and their future workplace. Most importantly, we want our students to learn to hone the power of their voices as a tool of communication. This will then empower them with communication skills that are life-enhancing, innovative, and authentic.
Objective: Improve communication, critical and creative thinking, and collaboration skills.
Focus: The class focuses on the teacher guiding the students to achieve better articulation and vocal expression for everyday communication and presentations. Drama is harnessed as a tool for learning as it involves students emotionally, physically, intellectually, and socially. It offers the opportunity for students to gain awareness and mastery over the use of their bodies, voice, and performance space so that they grow into confident communicators.

Specially designed for 5 to 16-year-olds
Would you like your child to benefit from Lorna Whiston Schools Signature Programmes, but would like a more personalised learning experience for your child? Are there particular areas of English that you would like your child to develop more confidence in? Or is your child struggling with his/her communication skills and needs to develop his/her confidence? Try the new 1 on 1 English Enrichment or Speech and Drama classes. Classes will be customised to the unique needs of your child and these classes are available online. We offer 1 on 1 classes from students as young as 5 years old through to Secondary 4. If your child needs more individual practice before his/her examinations, this English Enrichment Class will be the perfect way to improve his/her English proficiency.
New Hybrid Online Course: Write Up! Speak Up!
A great combination of English Enrichment and Speech and Drama.
Available from aged 7 to 11*
For the very first time, we have married our two signature programmes into one: Write Up! Speak Up! This is a perfect combination of our English Enrichment and Speech and Drama programmes, where our students are able to experience the best of both programmes via our online platform. At Lorna Whiston Schools, we have made it easier for parents to choose between English Enrichment or Speech and Drama by combining these two classes’ core elements. In this two-hour class, students learn to document their thoughts (Write Up!) and take action (Speak Up!) through engaging themed lessons.
The placement of this programme is strictly according to the child’s birth year.
